Mural Unveiling, Kids Market, Art, Music & Food!

Celebrate the return to school — and our beautiful new mural — with a fun community event from 11 AM to 4 PM, featuring Cornell’s first Kids’ Market, art, music, hands-on upcycling and mending workshops, a community dye bath, bike repair, local food from Picnic and Brown Cap, and a vintage and second-hand market. Mark your calendars!

 Event Highlights & Schedule

11:00 AM – 4:00 PM – Bon Marché Curated 2nd-Hand Market
A thoughtfully selected mix of vintage & contemporary clothing, unique home goods, and more.

11:00 AM – 4:00 PM – Creative Mending & Upcycling Workshops

• Kids Upcycling Lab: Cornell parent and designer Summer Lui will help kids transform torn or ruined clothing and textiles into beautiful new things.

• Creative Mending with Ace Makerspace: Bring an item that needs a small repair and learn how to creatively fix it on the spot.

11:00 AM – 4:00 PM – On-Site Bike Repairs
Tasty Cycle will offer tune-ups and small repairs — perfect for getting your bike ready for school commutes.

12:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Community Dye Bath
Have a beloved shirt with a stain? Don’t throw it away! Visit the Community Dye Bath with Pallavi from Hamesha Project in the sensory garden. She’ll be using natural and foraged dyes to transform clothing and textiles.
The first 30 Cornell sign-ups get a $10 discount, generously supported by the Cornell PTA.

12:00 PM – Mural Unveiling & Art Stamping
View Cornell’s beautiful new mural, meet artist Sandrine Demathieu, and create your own stamped keepsake (bring something to stamp!). At noon, Sandrine will cut the ribbon and sign the mural!

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Cornell Kids’ Market
Over 40 young sellers from Cornell offering gently used toys, books, games, and treasures. Visit your friends and classmates and get something cool! 

All Day – Live DJ + Food & Treats
Enjoy music all day long, food by Picnic, and ice cream by Brown Cap (ice cream starts at 12:00 PM).

4:00 PM – Event Ends
Head home, enjoy your new finds, and get ready for school on Monday!
