Planting a Special Tree

During the height of the Pandemic, in the summer of 2020,  the Green Schoolyard Team came together to re-plant a tree by the student bathroom and created a native habitat for pollinators. Have you ever tried to plant a tree during a Pandemic, when stores are closed,  without any large equipment? Neither had we. The experience was surreal in many ways, but was a lovely way to pay tribute to the time apart, and our desire to come together again, safely. We honored Principal Liz Reimuller's and former PTA president Tera Ritter's request to name the planting area in honor of former PTA member Jennifer Basurto.

New Handball Wall

In September, the Green Schoolyard Team replaced the handball wall on the east side of the shipping container and painted the hearts mural. Supplies for this project were generously donated by Channel Lumber and East Bay Paint Center.
